The actors moved in to the dorms today! There's about 25 actors, I think, that came in. Some of them are staying for the whole run of all four musicals and others for just this first show. We had our first production meeting today and heard "the vision" for the show: The dreary town gets more and more colorful as Chad, a hip-swiveling hunk, livens up the town with Elvis music =)
Last night was my first wine tasting shin dig. I met a lot of people that are on the board for the theater and talked about looking in their house at their furniture for possible future loaning opportunities. I also had a chance to talk with the director of All Shook Up. We talked a bit about grad school!! He said I definitely need to get directing experience specifically, and that most grad schools won't look at me, or shouldn't look at me if they're any good, until at least 3 years after under grad. Now I can start putting realistic goals on a timeline! He also said that if I really want to have my own theater, I should contemplate an MFA in Theater Management, or at least take business classes. (already in the plan!)
I guess I didn't need to worry about making friends...everyone seems to love me (not to sound self centered)! Maybe it's because I've been working out a little every morning ;) Anyway, here's my mailing address if you feel like sending a care package.
