Lots of reupholstery today... Bottom of the couch, a pouf, two vanity chairs! I also realized that I haven't been taking as many before and after pictures or "process" pics for this show. Oops. This show is so annoying for some reason. Maybe cause I dont get along with this director like I did with the one from ASU (he doesn't seem to have any self confidence)... maybe because it's difficult to work in this design when we're trying and trying to find all art deco furniture so we can stay in the design and stay historically accurate and today the designer says he doesn't care and we're pretty much creating this fantasy world anyway and to paint the wood side table silver... cause that's gonna look good (NOT!) Oh yeah, and adding two more inches to the legs of the couch for some reason, thanks director! is gonna look super great too....hate. Oh yeah, and I have a "kid's" show (our actors perform a kid show for the local kids) that I have to do props for and start props for She Loves Me, which I haven't even been able to begin pulling rehearsal props for! and still keep up All Shook Up props! It sounds like a lot and it is and i'm not stressed (for the most part) i'm just pissed.. not sure why.. maybe because and actress broke a wine glass that we're borrowing from Lockhaven today during the run. Or maybe it's because of this bipolar weather and pants that usually fall off my bum had no problem sticking to my legs today because it was so hot! Or maybe its because I had to spend 15 minutes that I didn't have cleaning up after our irresponsible scenic designer who has his masters in painting and yet never cleans up his paint or brushes or covers anything!!! We have no budget as it is, we cant spend money on paint that he's just gonna let dry up!
Lesson of today: sometimes, it doesn't matter if it looks good or not, you just gotta do what they tell you to do.
