blogging... what's that?!

Sorry it's been a while! I had to re-read my last post to remember when I posted last! So good news, I remembered how to paper mache and the Kidney-shaped-lamp turned out great! The director even added an extra beat in the blocking to show it off =) I made a chain of paper houses and cut each one out individually. oi! See pics. I also made a "quick change" table top (I glued the table cloth to a piece of wood the same size as the table being used. Then glued the table settings in place) Two actors carry out the piece and set it on top of the table and BAM the table is set!! No pics of this one yet. Apparently this director was "crazy" but I didn't really have any trouble or complaints. I felt bad cause the day of opening I was not feeling up to par. I wouldn't say I was officially sick, but something wasn't right. The only thing that didn't really get finished was the set dressing in the stationary closet. I got enough to make it work but it definitely got changed for the second night. She was happy with my work and we got to talk a bit at the bar after opening. She said she worked as a stage manager for a while in order to be able to watch directors (essentially what I wanted to do this summer but don't have time to). That makes me feel better about applying for stage management internships! Speaking of which, daddy has been amazing and keeps looking for positions for me to apply to. Unfortunately I haven't had much time to apply! I'm making it a goal to apply to at least one job/internship during the runs of the shows. We'll see how that goes.
Charlie Brown has been really fun to build like I thought it would =) There has definitely been a lack of communication between the director and me and the director and the SMs and the choreographer and me and SMs and just about everyone. I was still hearing about added props after the company preview last night! I did get everything done except for a few details for tonight's run though! Lots of building for this show and lots of special effects (like a flying kite! and bunny silhouettes and a hidden baseball!) Tomorrow Charissa and Mike come for lunch!! SO EXCITED!! And I have to work on the new kid's show Pinocchio. How do you make his nose grow?? I have a few ideas I'm gonna play with tomorrow.
