EEEK I feel like I'm ignoring the other cast (Lend Me a Tenor), but this show has been crazy to mount! The set design has been changed a few times due to reasons I should not mention (I'm learning how to be a tactful person!... goal of the summer anyway). I'm still replying to requests on the rehearsal reports, but I haven't been in to a rehearsal yet. I'm going to focus on a few key pieces for them tomorrow cause I'm done with All Shook Up... except for a few set dressing pieces. I also need to call insurance tomorrow and schedule my second interview with Florida Studio Theater. Oops
MY SISTER IS COMING HOME!!!!!! well, home to The States anyway!
also, we got a motorcycle for the show!!! WOOT! and the revolve still turns with its added weight. ASU director said he would write me a recommendation. He also apparently told the cast that I'm the best props designer he's ever worked with :) I take notes during run troughs relating to everything, not just props. I saw him during intermission and said I didn't mean to step on toes, but if I asked him had actor notes, would it be okay to share them with him. He said it technically wasn't my place, but he knows I want to be a director and so he said he would talk through them with me :) He also invited me to visit Shenandoah and visit/work with him again!!! Seriously, the other directors have a lot to live up to this summer! Veronica and I are becoming close friends. I hope it lasts past summer stock.
Well, time for bed. It was nice having cast member come up to me and thank me for the job I'm doing. I want to pass that in to Taylor Theater for teaching me to be the props designer I am. Daddy mentioned some people only do enough work just to get by and I do my best every time and that's why I make such a difference.
congrats at getting a second interview with Florida Studio Theater! When will it be?
ReplyDeleteI just had it today actually! It went well, lasted longer than the first one! The lady said she would conglomerate with the first guy and then call me within a couple of weeks. I also just applied to a Stage Manager internship at Hippodrome Theater in Gainsville
